Additional Needs

Additional Needs Requirements

Visitors with additional needs are entitled to one free carer ticket, provided they can show proof of requirement with one of the following:

- Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance (DLA)/Personal Independent Payments (PIP) or Attendance Allowance Award Letter

- A valid Blue Badge

- Access Card with +1 allocation

- A Headed Letter from GP or Consultant (dated within the last 6 months) confirming the need for a full-time carer

Whichever ticket you book for yourself, your carer’s ticket will mirror this.

Visitors will need to book a ticket as normal, and then the carer comes in with them on that ticket. Please bring your proof with you on the night or the carer allocation will not be given.

Mead Open Farm intends to make every visit a safe and pleasurable one for all our visitors. However the attractions during The Howl may be physically demanding and due to the nature of the event unsuitable for visitors with additional needs. For this reason we reserve the right to refuse admission to any attraction should we feel there may be a danger to an individual or others during either normal operation or in the event of emergency procedures. We hope that visitors accept any decision made with regard to preserving the safety of all of our guests. Please note that the provision of any discounts or additional access facilities is provided at the discretion of Mead Open Farm.

Additional needs for those who struggle to queue

We are unable to fully assess individuals with regards to queuing ability so provided documentation must include a clear statement of inability to queue and why.

Documents accepted:

  • Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance (DLA)/Personal Independent Payments (PIP) or Attendance Allowance Award Letter

  • A valid Blue Badge

  • Access Card with +1 allocation

  • A Headed Letter from GP or Consultant (dated within the last 6 months) confirming the need for a full-time carer

With the provision any of the above documentation listed above additional need customers and one carer may be placed in a virtual queue, whereby they are granted access to an attraction at the same time as they would have entered under normal queuing conditions without having to enter the queue line.

If part of a larger group the rest of the group will be required to queue as normal and may then call the carer as they approach the attraction entrance. Access will then be given via the fast track queue line uniting the group.

If the carer and visitor are not part of a group then they should proceed to an attraction host, either at the front of the queue line or end of the fast track line, an estimate of the queue time will then be made and the visitors may then return down the fast track line at the allotted time.
